It's been a while...

Well in April, the hubby and I moved to Jacksonville Florida. On April 17th we became grandparents to Miss Charoltte Kaye.
It is amazing how a little person can throw your whole life upside down.
Well, we made it through our first hurricane season without much trouble. We are renting a house the garage is a lot lower than the house, so we definitely has some garage flooding. I guess coming from the Pacific North West, I did not expect as much rain. I expected a lot of huminity, but it rains almost.
I still have not seen an alligator.
My beautiful daughter law says they look like a floating tire. I do see alot of tires. When I see an alligator I promise to take a picture and share.

I love Sunday.
This morning we caught our flight home from the Spokane Quilt Show. Up a 4am and on our way to to Boise by 6am. Stopped for breakfast, home for a couple of winks and then off to
see the girls.

One of my friends birthday is this week  and we are meeting for dinner  tomorrow night Monday 10/23/17. A little Italian and some fun laughs

Saturday, What to do?

Oh Saturday, what should we do?
Go the Quilt Show in Spokane.

Off we go for one our adventures. Up early and we are off before the sun gets up, flying my favorite airline Alaska Airlines. I work for Alaska Airline in the Boise reservation office. Ok, on with my adventure. So partner in crime, better know as my Honey off we go. Since I get to fly non-rev because of my job we fly to lots of cities with little effort. The non-rev life is not for everyone, because you sometime can't get home. But today we are lucky and on our way to Spokane to spend the day looking a fabulous quilts and meet wonderful artist.

Have a happy day

Feliz Cinco de Mayo

Time for some major Mexican food. I'm married to a great brown guy who is a great cook. He loves to eat so he loves to cook. I think he was a mommy's boy in the kitchen.

So today we made pork tamales. His Mom's recipe from her mother in-law

So you have to have red chili sauce, olives, masa and pork. Mix the pork with the chili sauce.
You have to spread the masa on the Corn husks (hojas) then put the red chili sauce on hojas the roll up wrap with deli paper. Steam until done and serve with homemade beans.
Packaged masa

Star Outreach is the local non profit that has a food bank and many other community service programs. I invite you to check out the website.

Tonight is also the evening that my husband is learning to blog... So far tonight he has not asked for my help. Not sure if that is good or bad.

Trying to work on a couple of projects. I belong to a great group of women that gather monthly to work on felted wool projects. Here are a few of my small wool projects that are in all different stages of completition.
